Model 8237-1600 can be configured to work with any size turbine, as long as it is powered by steam, gas, or water. Speed readouts for this over acceleration device are between 4 and 20 mA. This model will safely shut down any size turbine if it begins to dangerously speed up. The panel mount has a backplane structure making repairs and replacements easy. Model 8237-1600 can be easily integrated into any turbine system, and it comes with Modbus communications. It’s equipped with MPU detection in addition to acceleration detection.

It uses three independent trip relays, as well as low and high voltage power inputs. model 8237-1600 also features a triple opt-in voting structure. This overspeed detection device has a triple module design which makes it possible to carry out maintenance while the system is still online. One module can work while the other two are operating. The product 8237-1600 can also perform regular speed tests with the internal generator and frequency.

Woodward Control Systems Woodward USA has designed and manufactured the Woodward 505 control system, a microprocessor-based control system for single or dual actuator steam turbines. The Woodward 505 control system has two modes of operation: programming mode and operating mode. The programming mode is used to select the internal configuration of the controller and the setting of the operating mode; the operating mode implements the control according to the set program. The turbine electronic governor; the turbine electro-hydraulic converter; the control signal output from the Wood Ward 505 is converted into a hydraulic signal by the I/H converter to control the opening of the main steam door of the steam turbine compressor for the purpose of controlling the turbine compressor speed. The Woodward 505 electronic governor is used to control the speed of the turbocompressor.
