Docker-based software modules in EMERSON’s DXA product family provide access to process data in SIMATIC S7, SINUMERIK 840D and Modbus TCP controllers. edgeAggregator, also Docker-based, provides an OPC UA data integration layer as well as a Docker-based iot edge solution. This allows various OPC UA servers at the automation level to be grouped together with their associated address Spaces. The aggregated data can then be served to IT applications through a consistent OPC UA interface.
Version 3.40 of the Edge product includes a number of new features that facilitate integration with standard Docker IT solutions. These include:
Prometheus Metrics Support – Supports the collection and analysis of metrics using the Prometheus query language. Metrics can be stored in applications such as Prometheus and can be used for queries. Alerts can also be sent based on collected metrics.
Logging for container management platforms like Kubernetes and Portainer – A standard output interface for streaming log information to Docker containers for use by container management platforms like Kubernetes or Portainer.
Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) support – Supports integration with centrally managed authentication solutions.
Support for the new MQTT protocol version 5 as well as MQTT Store and Forward and MQTT Trigger Enhancement. Store and forward to prevent data loss. If the connection is broken, the data is temporarily stored and automatically transferred when the connection is restored. With new support for LUA scripts, MQTT trigger enhancements can create complex triggers for MQTT messages.
