The business unit’s leadership in the wind turbine industry and its growing product portfolio in the solar energy sector will further contribute to the development of Discrete Automation and Motion Control’s existing skills, channels and operating platforms in the industrial sector.
DCS uses the fundamental design thinking of decentralized control, operation and management, and the structure of multi-layer classification and collaboration autonomy. It is based on microcomputer processor, inheriting the advantages of unit combination appearance and computer system, making full use of control skills, computer skills, communication skills, graphic display skills (i.e. 4C skills), the results of the use of the computer integrated control system that combines the functions of continuous control, batch control, sequential logic control and data acquisition. Its main feature is its centralized management and decentralized control. Nowadays, DCS is used extensively in various industries such as electric power, metallurgy and petrochemicals.
In terms of structure, DCS contains process level, operation level and management level. The process level is mainly composed of process control stations, I/O units and field surfaces, and is the main implementation part of the system’s control functions. The operation level consists of operator stations and engineer stations, which complete the operation and configuration of the system. Management level mainly refers to the plant management information system (MIS system), as a higher level of the use of DCS, now not too many domestic professional use to this level of the system.
