General Electric developed the DS200SHVMG1AGE as a High Voltage M-frame Interface Board. Designed for the Mark V board series, a range of GE exciters and drives can accept this card. When installed, a medium for interfacing across the drive is available. The system’s power supply board (DCFB or SDCI) and the power connect card (PCCA) can interface with the SCR bridge found on the M-frame drive using this system.
This board can provide an array of applications needed for proper drive function. The DS200SHVMG1AGE model can convert shunt signals between -500 and 500 mV into differential frequency outputs between 0 and 500 kHz. The mV to kHz conversion occurs using the DC positive and negative shunts that interact with the VCO (voltage-controlled oscillator) circuits on board. Both the power supply board (DCFB or SDCI) and the power connect card (PCCA) receive these frequency conversions, adjusting their output as needed. The AC line current includes a 10:1 current transformer attenuation, adjusting incoming currents. Users can configure the attenuation of the drive using the seventeen selectable jumpers found onboard.
