The IC660ELB912 is a Genius network interface card. This module is a daughter board of the IBM PC Interface Module (PCIM). The card is mounted on a single-slot or dual-slot PCIM module and supports the I/O controller functions of the host controller, allowing remote I/O devices to be controlled, monitored and managed over the Genius I/O network. daughter boards on the PCIM card were previously manufactured by General Electric Fanuc and are now part of Emerson Automation. the IC660ELB912 is responsible for performing housekeeping tasks such as the initialisation and fault management of up to 30 devices located on the same Genius I/O network and the initialisation and fault management of up to 30 devices. It maintains an up-to-date data image of controlled devices and is able to exchange data with other controllers on the same network by sending and receiving background messages that are not related to I/O commands or global data. The main PCIM device provides a status LED to determine the operation of the connected daughter boards, in particular GENI normal and communication normal. It supports various configurable data rates such as 38.4K, 76.8K, 153.6K standard or 153.6K extended. If two (2) daughter boards are connected to the dual slot PCIM and each daughter board is connected to a separate Genius I/O bus, each daughter board must be set to the same baud rate as the card connection. In addition, two daughter boards can be connected to the same bus, so each daughter board must be configured for the same baud rate. If two (2) daughter boards are installed, a single daughter board requires 16k bytes of host memory and 32k bytes of host memory.

The IC660ELB912 miniature GENI daughter board is a network interface board from GE Fanuc. It is part of the Genius I/O family of modules and PLC components. It has backward compatible modules, shared RAM and 16 KB of memory. This miniature GENI daughter board can be connected to a single or dual slot IBM PC Interface Module (PCIM) and requires a 5 volt DC rated power supply to provide logic power. the IC660ELB912 miniature GENI daughter board can be easily mounted using spacers and screws. It comes with two status indicator LEDs to inform the operator of the status of the device. These LED indicators are the GENI Normal LED and the Communication Normal LED, which indicate the operating and communication status of the device respectively. Two light emitting diodes are located on the module panel and indicate the operation and communication of the device.

The IC660ELB912 miniature GENI network interface board is a general purpose I/O controller designed specifically for Genius I/O systems. It provides fault detection for up to 30 bus modules. All communication signals from this module are buffered to the host bus via the main board. It also provides efficient communication. The module’s shared RAM is optimised for use in IBM personal computers. This system memory stores buffered data, I/O data and other information. The IC660ELB912 miniature GENI daughter board is equipped with a 6303 microprocessor for optimum information writing convenience and to provide maximum storage capacity. This daughter board has a DIP switch for configuration. During installation, please ensure that a minimum of 1/8″ space is left between the modules to provide the airflow required for cooling.
