The IC697BEM761 module is an input/output module used with the IC600 programmable logic controllers. The module has been designed and manufactured by GE Fanuc. It is part of the Series 90-70 product line. The I/O module interfaces between the IC 600 and the IC 697 module. The I/O module is placed in the IC697 rack and it is equipped with two 37-pin connectors. The lower connector of the rack receives the upstream cable and the upper connector receives the downstream cable that is used to connect with additional racks. The IC697 rack is used with 128 or 256 I/O references. The module has a current rating of 1.3 Amps. The IC697BEM761 module is an enhanced module. The jumpers that are present on the backplane come with a rack number. The IC697 rack uses a reserved I/O reserved address for communication with the IC600 CPU.
The IC697BEM761 module is equipped with line termination resistors for each interface module for smooth operation. The input/output module can use a maximum of 8 racks for addressing. The module uses the I/O bus to exchange data with the IC600 CPU. The IC697BEM761 module is equipped with 3 LED indicators on the front side of the module. It has a “RACK” indicator to display faults in the rack, a “MODULE” to indicate faults occurring in the I/O interface module, and an “I/O CHAIN” that indicates the downstream rack fault and I/O bus failures. If an application demands 2000+ points, the IC697BEM761 module can expand the capacity of the system to accommodate 2000 inputs and 2000 outputs.
