The IC697CHS935 is a Series 90-70 backplane with 17 module slots. This backplane supports rear mounting to an enclosure with minimum depth of 10″ or 254 mm. It also supports front mounting using standard 19″ rack for a easier access. This rack can be supplied with power by locally installing an AC / DC or dedicated DC power supply from the IC697 series. Additionally, an external power supply may also be used however, an adaptor module must be provided.
The IC697CHS935 supports installation of up to 17 VME modules or 9 IC697 modules or a combination of these supported modules. This rack is provided with a variety of terminal that are intended to be shorted or applied with a jumper to determine the parameters of the rack. These parameters are Rack ID Select with corresponding jumpers JP1 to JP4; SYSFAIL; LWORD assigned to JP44; IRQ1/ to IRQ4/ (Interrupt lines) and Bus Grant 0 – 3/ and IACK/.
The IC697CHS935 supports VME standard C.1. Fan assembly may be installed to this rack for if the rack will host high-power modules. These fan assemblies are Rack Fan Assembly 120 VAC with catalog number IC697ACC721; Rack Fan Assembly, 240 VAC with catalog number IC697ACC724 and 24 VDC Rack fan assembly with ordering information IC697ACC744.
The IC697CHS783 rack is a GE Fanuc VME integrator rack. The rack can easily support third-party VME modules that require 0.8 inches of installation spacing. The rack can take a maximum of 5 Volts of power. The maximum current that the users can supply to the rack is 3.3 Amps. The rack can accommodate all GE IC 697 PLC modules. On the front side, it can easily connect to a 19-inch rack, and at the rear, it can be installed in a 10-inch-deep enclosure. The integrator rack can accommodate a power supply from a single power unit. The IC697CHS783 rack is equipped with a 17-slot backplane that can provide easy integration with other VME modules. During the mounting of the rack, enough clearance should be left around it for airflow. The rack has dimensions of 11.15 inches in height, 19 inches in width, and 7.5 inches in depth.
The IC697CHS783 rack can be configured by using a series of jumpers that are located on the backplane near each slot. This helps in flexibility during the installation. The IC697 system allows for the user configuration of the I/O point references for the modules. The rack offers module retention. It comes with molded latches that snap onto the upper and lower rails of the rack. The IC697CHS783 rack supports an optional rack fan assembly. The fans in the integrator rack produce low noise and they are assembled by using ball bearings for extended operating life. Each rack configuration accommodates a single power supply unit in the leftmost position. The rack can be mounted both vertically and horizontally, depending upon the application needs.
