The GE Fanuc IC697MEM713 programmable coprocessor module is a high-performance microcomputer that has been designed to perform coprocessor functions and it combines the functions of the communications module and the ASCII module or Basic module. The IC697MEM713 module is made for the Series 90-70 GE Fanuc PLC. It is configured to function with 1 or 2 independent CCM ports or with just a single serial port. The IC697MEM713 module features a Restart or Reset pushbutton that is used to place the module in “RUN Mode” or the “PROGRAM Mode.” Note that pressing the Restart/Reset pushbutton for less than 5 seconds puts the IC697MEM713 module in the “RUN mode.” This is referred to as a soft reset. Pressing the Restart/Reset pushbutton for more than 10 seconds makes the PCM enter the “PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT mode.” The IC697MEM713 module features up to 3 LED indicators that are found on the top and front of the PCM. The first LED indicator shows the “OFF state,” which means that the IC697MEM713 module is not functioning. This can occur in case of hardware malfunctioning. The second LED shows the “ON state,” and the LED glows steadily unless there is a problem. The last LED flashes whenever there is a power-up diagnostics process taking place.
