1. CPU module
CPU module is mainly composed of microprocessor (CPU chip) and memory. In the PLC control system, the factory CPU module is equivalent to the human brain. It constantly collects input signals, executes user programs, and refreshes the output of the system. Memory is used to store programs and data.
2.I/O module
The input (1nput) module and Output (Output) module, abbreviated as the I/O module, are the eyes, ears, hands and feet of the system, bridging the external field equipment to the CPU module.
The input module is used to receive and collect the input signal, and the switching input module is used to receive the slave button; Selector switch, digital dip switch, limit switch, proximity switch, photoelectric switch, pressure relay and other switch input signal; The analog input module is used to receive the continuously changing analog current and voltage signals provided by potentiometer, tonometer generator and various transmitters.
Switching output module is used to control the contactor, solenoid valve, electromagnet, indicator light, digital display device and alarm device and other output equipment, analog output module to control the control valve, frequency converter and other executive devices.
The working voltage of the CPU module is generally 5V, and the input/output signal voltage of the PLC is generally higher, such as 24V DC and 220V AC. Peak voltage and interference noise introduced from the outside may damage the components in the CPU module, or make the PLC not work properly. In the I/O module, optical coupler, photoelectric thyristor, small relay and other devices to isolate the PLC’s internal circuit and external I/O circuit, I/O module in addition to the transmission of signals, and level conversion and isolation.
3. programmer
A programmer is used to generate user programs and to edit, inspect, modify, and monitor the execution of user programs. Handheld programmer can not directly input and edit ladder diagram, only input and edit instruction table program, so it is also called instruction programmer. Its small size, cheap, generally used for small PLC programming, or for field debugging and maintenance.
Using programming software can directly generate and edit ladder diagram, instruction table, function block diagram and sequence function diagram program on the computer screen, and can realize the mutual conversion of different programming languages. The program is compiled and downloaded to the PLC, and the program in the PLC can be uploaded to the computer. The program can be saved or printed, through the network, but also can realize remote programming and transmission.
4. Power supply
PLC generally uses 220V AC power supply or 24V DC power supply. The internal switching power supply provides DC power supplies such as 5V, ±12V, and 24V for each module. Small PLC can generally provide 24V DC power supply for the input circuit and external electronic sensors (such as proximity switch), and the DC power supply that drives the PLC load is generally provided by the user.
