The working principle of the guideway contactor is based on the magnetic force of the electromagnet. When the coil of the electromagnet is energized, a magnetic field will be generated, so that the iron core is affected by the magnetic force, resulting in a suction force, so that the contact is closed. On the contrary, when the coil of the electromagnet is powered off, the magnetic field disappears, the iron core loses its magnetic effect, and the contact will pop open and disconnect the circuit.

The contact of the guideway contactor is controlled by the contact spring. When the current passes through the contact, the contact spring will produce a spring torque, so that the contact is closely contacted and the circuit is smooth. When the circuit is disconnected, the contact spring will make the contact quickly separate, avoid arc generation, and ensure the safe operation of electrical equipment.

Guideway contactors also have auxiliary contacts and intermediate relays and other functions, which can realize the control and protection of electrical equipment. Auxiliary contacts are usually used to achieve the control functions of electrical equipment, such as delay, cycle, reverse connection, etc. The intermediate relay is used to extend the control capability of the contactor, extending the control signal of one contactor to multiple contactors or other electrical equipment.
