The design of a printed circuit board is based on the circuit schematic and implements the functions required by the user of the circuit. The design of a printed circuit board mainly refers to the layout design, which requires various factors such as internal electronic components, metal connections, layout of through-holes and external connections, electromagnetic protection, thermal dissipation, crosstalk and so on.
1, Single Panel
In the most basic PCB, the parts are concentrated on one side and the wires are concentrated on the other side. Because the wires only appear on one side, so this PCB is called a single panel (Single-sided). Because single-sided has many strict restrictions on the design of the circuit (because there is only one side, the wiring cannot cross over and must be routed around a separate path), so only the early circuits used this type of board.
2. Double-sided boards
This type of board has wiring on both sides, but in order to use the wires on both sides, there must be a proper circuit connection between the two sides. The “bridge” between such circuits is called a via. A via is a small hole in the PCB, filled or coated with metal, which can be connected to the wires on both sides.
3, multilayer boards
In order to increase the area that can be wired, multilayer boards use more single or double-sided wiring board.
With a double-sided as the inner layer, two single-sided as the outer layer or two double-sided as the inner layer, two single-sided as the outer layer of the printed circuit board, through the positioning system and insulation bonding material alternately together and conductive graphics according to the design requirements of the interconnection of the printed circuit board will become a four-layer, six-layer printed circuit board, also known as multilayer printed circuit board.
