PROSOFT MVI69-GSC Universal ASCII serial interface module
The Prosoft Technology inRAx MVI69-GSC generic ASCII serial interface module with a CFG port is a complementary device for the CompactLogix/MicroLogix platform. The users will certainly benefit by using this module, which serves as a single-slot backplane-compatible device for the integration of two fully configurable ASCII type communication ports to the platform. The addition of such communication ports will not require the use of the processor’s front port and it does not require much time for processing. The module supports strings with up to 4096 ASCII characters. The MVI69 module has access to the memory of the processor which is used for the transfer of data between the processor and the module. The processor recognizes this type of module as an input/output device. The MVI69-GSC model is intended for usage with the CompactLogix and MicroLogix 1500 LRP controllers, with the exception of controllers with the product codes 1769-QBFC1B, 1769-L16x, and 1769-L18x. Each port of the module can be configured separately, and this includes the configuration of parameters such as the stream mode, intercharacter timeout, baud rate (110 to 115.2 K band), stop bits and data bits, on/off RTS timing (0 to 65535 milliseconds), minimum response delay (0 to 65535 milliseconds), termination types. The MVI69-GSC serial interface module, besides the CFG port, has two application ports (P1/P2) and LED indicators for the status of module, battery, and application, and also indicators for the serial port and CFG port activity. In addition to that, the module uses the RJ45, RS-232, RS-485, RS-422, and 6-foot RS-232 connection cables. The current rating of the module is maximum 800 milliAmps at 5 Volts DC while it has a power supply distance rating of 2, including L43/L45 installations on the first 2 slots of 1769 Bus. This module complies with all of the relevant standards such as the ATEX directive, CE, CB safety, Russian GOST-R, Korean KC, C/UL Class 1, and other. The temperature range for usage of the module is between 0 and 60 degrees Celsius (32 and 140 degrees Fahrenheit) while the module can be stored at more extreme temperatures. The relative humidity of the operating environment of the MVI69-GSC should be within a 5 to 95% range (non-condensing).
