ControlLogix controllers can monitor and control I/O across the ControlLogix backplane, and over network links. The ControlLogix 5580 controllers have an embedded Ethernet port for a direct connection to Ethernet-enabled devices and networks, and also support communication interface modules in the local chassis. To provide communication for ControlLogix 5570 or ControlLogix 5560 controllers,install the appropriate communication interface module into the local chassis.
The Allen-Bradley 1756-L84ES is a GuardLogix controller. It is part of the 5580 GuardLogix controller family which features an integrated 20MB user memory and 6MB safety memory. It has an integrated One (1) Ethernet and One (1) USB communication ports. It has an integrated motion over Ethernet I/P and capable of 31 Standard tasks, 1 safety task with 1000 programs per task.
This GuardLogix controller is compatible for use in safety applications that require Safety Integrated Level (SIL) 3 and Performance Level (PL)e certified devices. Additionally, it comes with a 20MB standard, user memory and a dedicated safety memory amounting to 6MB. The additional of integration motion enable this controller to perform motion control over Ethernet I/P as it is capable of Serial Reatime Communication System (SERCOS) interface. The integrated safety features safety on the EtherNet/IP network (Kinetix drives, PowerFlex drives, safety components), Distribute and control safety I/O and Produce and consume safety tag data.
