The UNITROL 1010 is a powerful small indirect excitation system with built-in support for dual channels, advanced load distribution in parallel running units, rotating diode monitoring, automatic synchronisation and a wide range of integrated communication options.

The UNITROL 1010 is a voltage regulator in the UNITROL 1000 series designed for small to medium sized synchronous generators and industrial machines. Based on advanced microprocessor technology and IGBT semiconductor devices that allow current outputs of up to 10 ADC for continuous operation.

The UNITROL 1010 offers high performance in harsh conditions and in different temperature ranges and is fully compliant with DNV and UL standards. additional features of the UNITROL 1010 compared to previous versions are Ethernet, USB connection, data and event logging and many new functions.

The UNITROL 1010 is a miniaturised device designed for equipment with an excitation current of up to 10A. It shares the same interface and dimensions as the UNITROL 1020.

Excitation is the machine that supplies stator power to the stator of a generator or synchronous motor to provide an operating magnetic field for an electrical device such as a generator (which works using the principle of electromagnetic induction). Sometimes the device that provides rotor power to the generator rotor is also called excitation.
Depending on the excitation method of the DC motor, it can be divided into other excitation, parallel excitation, series excitation, compound excitation, etc. During the rotation of the DC motor, the excitation is to control the voltage of the stator so that the magnetic field generated changes, changing the speed of the DC motor, changing the excitation also plays a role in changing the speed.

Excitation is the device that provides stator power to the stator of a generator or synchronous motor.
Depending on the excitation method of the DC motor, it can be divided into other excitation, parallel excitation, series excitation, compound excitation, etc. During the rotation of the DC motor, the excitation is to control the voltage of the stator so that the magnetic field generated changes, changing the speed of the DC motor, changing the excitation also plays a role in changing the speed.
Definition of a generator excitation system
A generator consists of two main components.
(1) The rotor – the rotor winding is fed with DC to generate the generator’s magnetic field.
(2) Stator – the stator winding is cut by the magnetic lines of force of the magnetic field to produce (generate) current in the stator winding. In the case of an alternator, the rotor of the generator is dragged by the prime mover (turbine, steam turbine, diesel engine, etc.) and therefore the magnetic field generated by the rotor winding is rotating, with the stationary stator winding cutting the magnetic lines of force relative to the motion.
